Terms of Service

Fastcrawl is a web scraping and crawling API operated by the Fastcrawl team ("Fastcrawl", "we", "us"). By creating an account, obtaining an API key, or sending a request to the API, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

Fastcrawl fetches URLs on your instruction and returns the content in machine-readable form (markdown, HTML, links, or structured JSON). Requests are served through our infrastructure and third-party edge rendering providers. We may change, add, or remove features, endpoints, and response fields at any time. We aim to give notice of breaking changes, but the API is provided as-is and is not a guaranteed-stability contract.

2. Your account and API key

• You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure.
• API keys are stored by us only as a hash, so we cannot recover a lost key — you can rotate it from your dashboard.
• You are responsible for all requests made with your key, including requests made by your own users or agents. Do not embed a key in client-side code or a public repository.
• You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

3. Acceptable use

You are responsible for what you fetch and for how you use it. You agree not to use Fastcrawl to:

• break any law, or infringe anyone's rights, including copyright and database rights;
• access a target you are not permitted to access, or circumvent authentication, paywalls, or access controls;
• collect personal data without a lawful basis, or in breach of applicable data-protection law;
• send malware, attack, overload, or probe our infrastructure or a third party's;
• resell or rebrand the API as your own scraping service without a written agreement;
• use the service to build a competing scraping API.

Many sites restrict automated access in their own terms. Checking a target's terms,robots.txt, and applicable law before scraping it is your responsibility, not ours. We do not grant you any right to a third party's content.

4. Plans, credits, and billing

• The free tier includes 1,500 credits per month, 100 per day, and 20 requests per minute. Free-tier usage is capped and does not incur charges.
• The paid plan is $5 per month for 5,000 credits, billed in advance through Stripe.
• Usage beyond a paid plan's included credits is billed at $1.00 per 1,000 credits, metered monthly and charged on your next invoice.
• Failed requests are never charged. A request is billable only when it returns content successfully; a cache hit is not charged as a new fetch.
• Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax you may owe. We may change pricing with notice before your next billing period.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal; access continues to the end of the paid period.

5. Refunds

Because usage is metered and consumed immediately, fees already paid are generally non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error — for example for failed requests or for usage you did not make — contact us within 30 days and we will investigate and correct the meter or refund the amount if the charge was wrong.

6. Availability

We do not offer a service-level agreement on the free tier. The service may be interrupted for maintenance, or by failures of targets, networks, or our providers. A failed scrape is reported with an error_code and aretryable flag; you should only retry when that flag is true.

7. Third-party content and services

Content returned by the API belongs to the sites it came from. We claim no rights over it and give no warranty about its accuracy, completeness, or legality. Payments are processed by Stripe, and page rendering uses third-party edge providers; your use of those services may also be subject to their terms.

8. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that puts our infrastructure or other customers at risk, or that we are required to act against by law. Where practical we will tell you why. On termination your right to use the API ends immediately.

9. Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that any scrape will succeed or that returned content is accurate or fit for your purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above and, where the change is significant, notified by email or in the dashboard. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
